Bolder begins the development of a new quarry and concrete operation

The Directors of Bolder S.A. Edgebold’s majority owned construction company today signed a final agreement in Nacala to purchase the assets of “Simão Ferreira & Filhos Moçambique”. The company assets have now been incorporated into Bolder’s operations. We are proud to have an opportunity to develop this highly regarded business.

Simão Ferreira & Filhos Moçambique initiated its operations in Mozambique in the 2011 after identifying a market opportunity to manufacture and distribute cement blocks, pave and concrete pipes and has built an enviable reputation for quality and reliability.

The deal has given Bolder S.A. long term access to one of Nacala’s finest limestone quarries, a 290 hectares mining certificate for sand exploration in Memba and a well positioned 12 hectares work site yard in Nauaia, Nacala.

Although the company has been operating successfully to date, Edgebold intends to further invest in the ramp-up and expansion of the quarry as well as the concrete product operations in the coming months under new management.

Edgebold was founded in Dubai in 2011 with the purpose of growing businesses in Southern Africa by investing in promising existing companies and by establishing new ones.

Bolder S.A was incorporated in Nacala, Mozambique in 2014 and operates in quarrying, construction, the laying of roads and the production of concrete products including pave, bricks and pipes.
